“If it was in Britain, you could almost call it a classic country pub. Good selection of local game on the menu. The crème brulé is a family favourite for us. Overall nothing fancy schmancy just good honest food and lovely service. Definitely recommend.”

“We were hiking in the Südheide (Southern Heath), so booked this hotel for one night (breakfast included). The rooms are a bit older, and the walls badly isolated - so we could hear TV from beneath. The service, the restaurant and the breakfast were, however, superb - with fresh local foods and homemade bread, meats and cakes. Also the ambiente at breakfast was great - with antique furniture and decoration. The location is quiet, which contributes to a good night's sleep. A bit tricky to reach by bus, but possible (2 bus operators in the area with different schedules - you may need to call them to pick you up, otherwise they don't run).”
